Hello, I'm Christina Power, and I believe the most powerful stories are told in the wild, untamed moments.

My journey into photography was born from a deep love for Gundogs and the sporting lifestyle.

For me, it's not just about taking pictures; it's about immersing myself in the environment, understanding the rhythm of the hunt, and anticipating those fleeting, authentic interactions that truly define the bond between a working dog and its handler.

My approach is raw and unobtrusive. I aim to capture the genuine spirit of your Gundog – their unwavering focus, their joyful retrieves, and the quiet pride in their eyes.

Whether it's a dynamic shot in the field, a tender portrait with their owner, or the camaraderie of a hunting party, I strive to create images that are as real and vibrant as the memories themselves.

I'm passionate about preserving these invaluable moments, ensuring that the dedication, training, and love that go into the sporting life are beautifully documented for generations to come. Let's tell your unique story, authentically and powerfully.

Why I Photograph Gundogs

Gundogs are powerful, intelligent, and deeply bonded to the people who train, work, and live beside them.

Photographing them beautifully is about more than capturing a single moment.

It takes technical skill, an understanding of movement and timing, and a deep appreciation for the training, patience, partnership, and tradition behind each dog’s story.

My goal is to create timeless, authentic images that preserve not only how your dog looks, but who they are and the life you share together.

My approach is calm, observant, and deeply story-driven. I create space for you and your dog to settle in naturally, while offering guidance when needed so nothing feels stiff or overwhelming. I pay attention to the quiet details, the connection, and the fleeting moments that often mean the most. The result is timeless imagery that feels honest, effortless, and beautifully true to your story.

Family

Growing up, my Grandpa Olund, Uncle Jack, and Uncle Bob were avid photographers, always capturing moments and memories with their cameras. I remember countless occasions where they would exclaim, "Wait, I need to check my settings," or "Wait, the lighting isn't right," as they meticulously set up the perfect shot. Once the photos were taken, the next step was the long and eagerly awaited process of developing them.

Over the next few months, I would eagerly await the arrival of those magical pictures that would emerge from the development lab. Finally, the day would arrive when the slides or photos would be ready for viewing. We would gather around the living room, set up the backdrop screen and slide machine, and eagerly await the images to flicker to life.

The preparation and anticipation were an integral part of the experience. We would meticulously arrange the screen and slide machine, waiting for the moment when the first slide would appear on the screen. Each photo was like a glimpse into the past, allowing us to relive cherished moments and revisit cherished memories.

These memories are cherished and I am grateful to the men who instilled in me a love for photography. While times may have changed and the equipment has become more advanced, the goal remains the same: to capture a moment in time and preserve it forever. Whether it is through a digital camera or a smartphone, photography allows us to freeze time and preserve memories that might otherwise fade away.

I am grateful for the patience and passion that my Grandpa Olund, Uncle Jack, and Uncle Bob displayed in their pursuit of photography. Their dedication to capturing moments and preserving memories has had a profound impact on me, and I am grateful for the legacy they have left behind.

Every Gundog and sporting story is unique. I'm here to capture yours with authenticity and passion.
